Welcome to the Dollhouse.

I finally got a new piece for my Haunted Doll House, which has expanded from one to 3 levels and spaces of gruesome miniatures and macabre fixtures of fun! I have no fear of dolls, I love them and collect vintage doll parts mainly. Random legs, and eyes (my favorite) and certainly love the unattached cute porcelain chubby hands

So let's take a deeper look into everyone's favorite phobia!

Starting of course with La Isla de las Muñecas, the Island of the Dolls Just a few miles south of the center of Mexico City. The island is filled with hundreds — possibly thousands — of hanging, decomposing, and decapitated dolls. I have been here! I visited Xochimilco, but didn't get to embark to the island itself, and at the time it was 1400 pesos per person (100 bucks) But did take the boat tour past it. While the exact number of decaying dolls hasn't been recorded, the story of how the island came to be overrun with dolls is far more intriguing. As legend has it, the first doll was hung when the island's sole inhabitant found the corpse of a drowned girl and her doll.According to some stories, Barrera was increasingly haunted by a girl whispering, "I want my doll" and footsteps in the dead of night. While it's unknown what exactly he experienced in his hut, in the thick of the jungle miles away from civilization.

To keep the girl's spirit content, Barrera retrieved dolls that had washed up in the lilies of the canal and saved them from the garbage wherever he went. These discarded dolls were hung up across the island in whatever ramshackle state he found them in. Barrera was found dead in 2001 — drowned in the same spot he reported finding the dead girl and her doll nearly 50 years before. There are currently over 4000 reported dolls, and discarded toys on the island today.

There are alot and I mean A LOT of supposedly haunted objects out there and even more haunted dolls. If you simply type into eBay the phrase haunted doll you are overwhelmed with a plethora of options. But the most haunted dolls in the world such as Annabelle or Robert all have one thing in common with Harold. It's nothing human that is possessing them. Dolls are a favorite thing of demons to take over, the theory is that dolls come with a certain innocence and nearly always a story of a little boy or girl who died when in possession of the doll they loved, so naturally this leads people to believe it is the spirit of an innocent child. But when the demonic entity gains your trust it's almost like giving it permission to ruin your life.

So I have a few more for you, perhaps not as well known as the likes of Mandy in the Quesnel Museum, or one of my faves Robert the Doll. Here’s a small snapshot of a few more I have read up on and watched for the decades.

Charley:For Sale!! first discovered in the attic of an old Victorian home in upstate New York in 1968. Charley was locked away inside a trunk with newspapers dating back to the 1930s and a yellowed piece of paper that had the Lord’s Prayer written on it. The family placed the figurine on display with their other dolls and toys. Soon, however, Charley seemed to move on its own, swapping places with the other toys.

Not long thereafter, the family’s youngest daughter claimed that Charley spoke to her in the middle of the night. The parents dismissed the claim, chalking it up to their daughter’s overactive imagination. But the little girl and her siblings were terrified of Charley; they refused to go near it. When mysterious scratches appeared on the little girl’s body, the family decided to lock Charley back up in the attic trunk

Ruby:Like a few of the dolls on this list, Ruby could never stay in one place at a time. Its owners often found the doll in different rooms of the house. What’s more, picking Ruby up induced feelings of sadness and nausea. According to its former owners, Ruby was passed down from generation to generation. The doll’s spooky origin traces back many years ago to a young family relative, who was said to have passed away while clutching the figurine. After jumping between different family members, Ruby has now found her forever home at The Traveling Museum of the Paranormal and the Occult, where visitors often feel an overwhelming feeling of sorrow from the doll.

Jerrell For Sale!!! She said to cause objects to move, including doors opening and closing, and sometimes slamming shut. People report having an eerie feeling around this doll, and some say they hear her whispering. Her hands stretch out like she is trying to grab you. Several people have reported waking to find this doll near their bed, when she was previously on a shelf. Most people are terrified by this doll, and say that she has a dark aura. She measures approximately 16 inches tall. Jerrell has been procured from the darkness for your dark side collection.

I could keep going on dolls forever really!! Let's end tonight with Luca and nothing more than a fun video below, Enjoy!
