Day #20 of 31 days of Halloween (2022)
Hey Alexa!
Remember Saturday Morning cartoons, We had some pretty awesome shows to tune into. We could be taken underground With the Fraggles, to the Preestoric Era with the Flinstones or flashed forward to the future with the Jetsons. Now that was dreams of the future, the Talking Smart Watches, Video Chatting, even Roombas!
Well they predicted all that and we now have it.
We all have Technology at our fingertips, we carry our cell phones in our hands and many take the simple convenience for granted. There have been leaps and bounds in the tech world in even the last decade that real have simplified life. Ring Cameras, Bluetooth Washing Machines, and most of us have had a Siri, Bixby or Alexa.
You might not realize it, but Alexa is always listening for her name or things that sound like her name. Although “Alexa” (or Echo, Amazon, Ziggy, or Computer, if you prefer) is the wake-up word, sometimes similar sounding words will wake her up.
I’ve seen Alexa wake up and respond to the radio and even music, thinking someone was calling her name.
