Sunday Meal deal

The kitchen, a place where chefs transform ingredients into meals, can sometimes hide dark secrets. Most chefs dedicate their lives to perfecting their craft, but there have been rare and terrifying cases where culinary expertise is overshadowed by something far more sinister

Today we blur the line between the art of cooking and the horrors of violence, using  skills for purposes no one could have imagined. I've actually written about a lot of factual cases of Cannibalism, Chefs who made their last meal of the human kind, and ways that the consumption of people was far more than just for taste.

Meiwes and his desire to be a victim, Geins was known to skin and eat his victims, Dahmer of course, Fish and his brutality of bites. Posts about Nordic Food Labs and their use of blood, How Joe Methany would serve actual people in his burgers to the public, candied people, and use of flesh in delicacies. We have had cases of body parts in freezers, heads in stoves, butchers and bakers and chefs oh my!

It all sort of goes to show it's not as rare as we all hoped.

Nico Claux, often referred to as the “Vampire of Paris,” is one of the most notorious figures in true crime history. A convicted murderer, cannibal, and self-confessed necrophile, Claux's fascination with death and the macabre went far beyond mere curiosity. His terrifying crimes shocked the public and added to the allure of his grim persona.

He  collected human bones and organs, indulging in cannibalistic tendencies. His interest in human flesh and murder ultimately culminated in the cold-blooded shooting and killing of a man in 1994.

During his arrest, police discovered a vast collection of stolen human remains in his apartment, including bones and blood bags. His trial exposed his dark, twisted world, revealing him not only as a murderer but a self-styled vampire who claimed to have drunk the blood of the dead. During his incarceration his work has turned to Art and writing.

In fact, I will even admit I have a number of “Cookbooks”. I have the last meals, Deathrow Recipes, The Granny Ripper Cookbook.  My most recent one was of Nico Claux’s collection, I just received the second installment of his “work”

Why do I have these? I don’t know! Usually a tongue in cheek nod to mixing my life as a vegetarian and the fact I research these cases for entertainment.

I have exposed and written about things,  many known about, a few oddities and certainly adding in a fun fact now and then, one of my favorites came up in my memory today and felt perfect to share.

In 2008 a website came to be, originally no one knew how or at that time where it started. The Main page reads:

Specializing in the preparation of human meat, Cannibal Club brings the cutting edge of experimental cuisine to the refined palates of L.A.’s cultural elite. Our master chefs hail from around the world for the opportunity to practice their craft free of compromise and unbounded by convention.

Our exclusive clientele includes noted filmmakers, intellectuals, and celebrities who have embraced the Enlightenment ideals of free expression and rationalism. On event nights, avant-garde performance artists, celebrated literary figures, and ground-breaking musicians entertain our guests.

At Cannibal Club, we celebrate artistic excellence as the natural and inevitable expression of the unbridled human spirit.

Hollywood has many secrets.

Take this as you will, but don’t be taking me for dinner!
