Dinner's Ready

We have explored odd foods, disorders, and serial bad guys in general. Naturally just recently, I took a look into cannibalism which by definition is the act of consuming another individual of the same species as food. What if you yourself ... .are the dinner?

Imagine waking up with an uncontrollable urge gnawing at your mind, a hunger not for food, but for yourself. Your fingers twitch, your teeth ache, and a disturbing thought keeps creeping back, one you can't ignore: What if I just took a little bite?

This horrifying compulsion has a name, Autophagia, the act of consuming parts of your OWN body. It’s a rare and terrifying disorder where the mind turns on the body in the most grotesque way, pushing individuals to bite, tear, or devour their own flesh.

Unlike common forms of self-love, autophagia isn’t just about pain; it’s about hunger that turns inward, a twisted urge to destroy yourself from the outside in.

For most, the thought of eating one’s own body is repulsive, but for those suffering from autophagia, it becomes an overwhelming compulsion. Victims of this condition describe it as a voice inside their head, a whisper that grows louder each day, urging them to consume..

Autophagia doesn’t just haunt the body, it attacks the mind. Those affected are trapped in a horrifying cycle of need and revulsion, and hunger for themselves

It’s the ultimate betrayal when your own body becomes your worst enemy.

Hands that were once used for comfort and care now bring destruction. Teeth meant for sustenance are now weapons. Every bite, every gnaw, every rip of flesh serves to fuel a hunger that cannot be satisfied.

The most horrifying aspect of autophagia is its slow, insidious onset.

It often begins with small chewing on the inside of the cheek, biting nails, and maybe a nervous nibble on the lips.

But over time, the compulsion escalates.

What was once a harmless habit becomes an uncontrollable need. The line between discomfort and destruction blurs. Fingers, arms, and even legs become targets, and in extreme cases, individuals will dig into their skin with sharp objects to get a solid chunk of flesh to satisfy the compulsion.

The physical consequences of autophagia are as devastating as they are horrifying. Infections, severe blood loss, nerve damage these are the real, painful outcomes of self-cannibalism.

Victims can lose entire fingers, toes, cut off body parts for consumption, suffering permanent disfigurement.

In some extreme cases, the urge can turn fatal, as the person bites through arteries or consumes enough flesh to cause irreparable damage.

Imagine fearing the moment your mind loses the battle, and you find yourself biting into your own arm, the taste of your own blood filling your mouth. You are hungry.

The most terrifying thing of all? There’s no running from it. You can’t flee the hunger inside you.

You can’t outrun the hunger.
